About Lighting Parts

Spa Light Replacement Parts for Every Make and Model

A failed spa light turns a relaxing evening soak into a frustrating troubleshooting session. Whether you need a complete LED assembly, a cracked lens, a burnt-out bulb, a wiring harness, or a light controller, this collection covers the full repair chain — 60 parts across the brands most commonly found in North American hot tubs and swim spas.

How to Choose the Right Spa Light Part

Lighting systems have more variation than almost any other spa component. Work through these questions before ordering:

Brands We Carry

  • Balboa — the most widely integrated spa controls brand; their light controllers are found in hundreds of OEM builds.
  • Dimension One Spas — premium swim spa and hot tub manufacturer; parts are model-specific and harder to source elsewhere.
  • Horizon Ventures — produces the Spyder LED line, a popular aftermarket upgrade for single-color fixtures.
  • Hot Spring Spas — their proprietary LED housings and harnesses require exact OEM matches.
  • J&J Electronics — a specialist spa lighting manufacturer with a broad catalog of LED assemblies and bulbs.
  • O'Ryan — known for durable lens kits and light assemblies used across multiple spa brands.
  • Platinum Spas / Wellis — European-engineered spas with metric-sized perimeter lighting components.
  • Rising Dragon — supplies color-controller hardware for value-tier and mid-range spa brands.
  • Sloan — manufactures the faceted bullet-style lenses common in older and mid-range spa shells.
  • Sundance Spas — their light controllers and housings are model-year sensitive; match by part number.
  • Waterway — a major OEM supplier; their light assemblies and housings are among the most widely stocked.

Common Problems This Part Solves

  • Light is completely dark. Could be a blown bulb, a failed LED board, or a tripped GFCI caused by water intrusion in the housing. See our full spa light not working diagnosis guide to isolate the fault before ordering.
  • Lens is yellowed, cloudy, or cracked. UV and chemical exposure degrade polycarbonate lenses over time. A lens kit replacement restores full brightness without pulling the entire fixture.
  • Light flickers or dims intermittently. Usually a corroded harness connector or a failing solder joint inside the housing. Inspect the harness first; if the connector shows green or white oxidation, replace the harness.
  • Color cycling stopped or stuck on one color. The controller board has likely failed. Match the replacement controller to your specific spa brand — see the Sundance and Rising Dragon controllers above.
  • Water inside the housing. The O-ring or lens gasket has failed. Replace the lens kit and the O-ring together; reusing the old gasket almost always results in repeat leaks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replace just the bulb, or do I need the whole assembly?

It depends on your fixture type. Older spas used replaceable halogen or incandescent bulbs — the LED Light Bulb 74930 fits many of those sockets and upgrades them to LED at the same time. Newer integrated LED assemblies are sealed units; if the LED board fails, you replace the full assembly rather than a bulb.

How do I know if my spa light is 12V or 120V?

Check your control system documentation or the label on the light transformer in your equipment bay. Most in-shell accent lights run on 12 V AC through a step-down transformer. Some older fixtures and certain fiber-optic illuminators run at line voltage. Never assume — connecting a 12V fixture to 120V will destroy it instantly.

Will an aftermarket LED assembly fit my OEM housing?

Sometimes, but fitment is not guaranteed. The safest approach is to match the OEM part number exactly. If you're upgrading from halogen to LED, confirm the replacement's mounting footprint, lens diameter, and connector type match the original before purchasing.

Why does my GFCI trip when the light turns on?

Water has likely entered the fixture housing, creating a ground fault. Remove the light assembly, dry it thoroughly, and inspect the lens gasket and O-ring. If the housing itself is cracked, replace the full assembly. Our spa light not working diagnosis guide walks through this step by step.

What is an LED amplifier used for in a spa lighting system?

In multi-zone RGB color systems, the controller signal weakens as it travels longer cable runs or splits to additional fixtures. An amplifier like the LED Amplifier ACM1072 regenerates the signal so all zones display the same color at the same brightness. It is typically needed when adding extra light zones beyond the original design.

How long should a spa LED light last?

A quality LED assembly in a properly sealed housing typically lasts many years under normal use. Premature failure is almost always caused by water intrusion from a failed gasket, voltage mismatch, or chemical imbalance in the spa water accelerating corrosion on the harness connector. Keep water chemistry balanced and inspect lens seals annually.
