How do I know if my spa pressure switch is bad?

The fastest field test is to bypass the switch temporarily with a jumper wire (with the spa powered off first) and then restore power. If the heater now fires, the switch is the problem. You can also test continuity across the switch terminals with a multimeter while manually pressing the diaphragm — a healthy normally-open switch should show continuity when pressed and open when released. Can I adjust the trip pressure on my existing switch?

Some switches have an adjustment screw on the body that shifts the trip point a fraction of a psi. Are Tecmark 3000-series and 4000-series switches interchangeable?

Not necessarily. The series differ in amperage rating, trip pressure, and connector type. A Tecmark 3010 (1 A signal type) is not a substitute for a Tecmark 4036P (25 A direct-switching type) even though both share the same port thread. Always match the amperage and trip pressure to your original specification.

My spa shows a "FL" or "FLO" error — is that the pressure switch?
