COM error code — Gecko spa
Always cut power at the breaker before opening the spa pack or touching wiring. Spa equipment runs at 120/240V and can be lethal. If you are unsure, hire a licensed spa technician.
COM means the keypad and board stopped talking. The cable fails far more often than either end — pins corrode and cables kink where they pass through the cabinet.
What COM means
Communication error between topside and main board.
Diagnose in order
- Power-cycle at the breaker — this clears the majority of communication errors
- Inspect the topside cable for kinks, water damage or corroded pins
- Reseat the topside connector at the main board
- Replace the topside cable before the panel; replace the board only as a last resort
