OL error code — Hot Spring / Watkins spa
Always cut power at the breaker before opening the spa pack or touching wiring. Spa equipment runs at 120/240V and can be lethal. If you are unsure, hire a licensed spa technician.
OL means the circ pump pulled more current than allowed — a seizing pump, jammed impeller, or wiring fault. Hot Spring circ pumps (SilentFlo lineage) have well-known replacement paths when they reach this stage.
What OL means
Overload — the circulation pump drew too much current.
Diagnose in order
- Check the circ pump for obstruction or seizure — spin the wet end if accessible
- Inspect wiring for damage or moisture
- Replace the circulation pump if it draws high current with clear plumbing
- A board that trips OL with a known-good pump needs board diagnosis
